Data Scientist

The role 

We are looking for an influential, highly agile, and collaborative Data Scientist to join our high performing team! 

Telenor Connexion has a real-time big data solution in production since 2015. The solution is continuously evolving, and we are currently on our 3rd generation architecture. We process more than 850 million real-time events per day and similar amounts of records are batch processed. Currently we run 3000 ML-models in production. Everything is available in our data platform, and this is a gold mine of high-quality data that our Data Science team utilize to serve business insights.  

The solution covers many advanced data use cases, ranging from real-time anomaly detection, data driven risk analyses, visual analytics applications, timely reports with directly actionable tasks, individualized notifications on account level in Salesforce and more. 

As a data scientist in Telenor Connexion, you are backed up with an insight hungry and data savvy organizational culture, a strong data engineering team, mindboggling amounts of data, and all the tools and services you need in your role to deliver meaningful difference to the business and customers. We are counting on you in advising, mentoring, and training relevant colleagues to democratize data services across the organization. You will actively collaborate with other data centric teams like Business Control, Billing Operations, Pricing Management, Roaming Management and Service Operations Center. 

This role reports to our Head of Data and Analytics and is located in Karlskrona, Göteborg or Stockholm. 
 

Tasks and responsibilities 

As a Data Scientist at Telenor Connexion, your key responsibility is to deliver data driven insights to the business. 

You will also: 

• Stay up-to-date and be an expert on the data in our data platform and AWS Machine learning services
• Maintain and improve inventory of analytics apps, models, and reports 
• Manage and act on ad-hoc analytics request inbox and continuously improve ad-hoc analytics workflow
• Support Data Engineers with validation of data quality and correctness in UAT and production after new release of the data platform 
• Analyze data quality in our data platforms and follow up on suggested improvements with data engineers and platform architect
• Lead the data investigation in root-cause-analysis in case of disturbances and incidents  

This role is central in delivering actionable insights both to our business and customers and translating complicated and vague business problems into well-defined data and insights solutions. You will be our go-to-person for driving machine learning implementations to solve business problems.  

You will put reports and analytics apps into production and showcase Telenor Connexion Analytics use cases for internal audience and external analysts. You will also be part of delivering prototypes, as well as productionized, Machine Learning models relevant to address business challenges. 

Experience and skills 

In order to succeed in this role, you will need:  

• MS/MSc degree in engineering or relevant domain
• Experience of data analytics and/or Data Science (be Data literate)
• Solid experience of working in roles requiring high analytical capacity
• Strong SQL skills for analytical reporting
• Strong skills in data visualization and storytelling
• Good knowledge of Data Science and ML libraries in Python 
• Swedish work permit 
   

You might also need: 

• To be familiar with AWS technologies
• Experience of working with AWS QuickSight , Tibco Spotfire or similar tools 
• PhD in Data Science/engineering or other relevant fields
• Experience of working with real-time big data streams 
• Knowledge in IoT and/or Mobile network/connectivity technologies
