Providers are grouped by their publicly reported Gartner 2026 quadrant category. The order within each group is editorial, not a ranking. The selection is not exhaustive.

Analyst references also draw on the Transforma Insights Communications Service Provider IoT Peer Benchmarking Report 2025 and Berg Insight’s The Global M2M/IoT Communications Market, 10th Edition (2025). The selection, service summaries, and evaluation criteria are Telenor IoT’s editorial choices. “Profiled” means included in a report, not an award, ranking, or endorsement.
Provider models can overlap. Gartner assesses Telenor Group and Deutsche Telekom Group; their IoT brands are used here. Soracom-KDDI is a joint Gartner assessment, while Transforma profiles Soracom and Berg Insight profiles Soracom and KDDI separately. Report coverage and assessment criteria differ. Service summaries highlight selected capabilities, not exclusive advantages.
Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, Bluetooth, and private-network offerings are outside this comparison. Some listed providers also offer satellite connectivity as a complement where terrestrial coverage is unavailable.
When comparing IoT connectivity providers, the most important question is not simply “who has the biggest coverage map?” but “which provider and service model fit the deployment?”
Assess each area against the specific service proposed, rather than assuming capabilities from the provider's size or business model.

A successful pilot is only the starting point. During development, assess whether the proposed service can support your commercial rollout, future markets, and devices for their expected operating life.
There is no single best IoT connectivity provider for every deployment. The right choice is the service that fits your technical, operational, and commercial requirements.
Give shortlisted providers the same deployment brief: target countries, device volumes, expected usage, operating lifetime, and support needs. Then validate the proposed service with representative devices and locations before committing to scale.

An MNO operates radio access networks using licensed spectrum. An MVNO provides connectivity through wholesale network access and may operate its own core network and platforms. Both models can support global IoT deployments. The label alone does not establish coverage, support quality, or commercial fit.
Reports assess different provider sets using different criteria. A quadrant classification, a market-share estimate, and inclusion in a company profile measure different things. Check the report year, scope, methodology, and company being assessed before treating the results as directly comparable.
