1990's

Telenor pioneers M2M communications with things connected over the GSM network.

2003

First large-scale partnerships with Volvo and Verisure Securitas Direct.

2008

Telenor Connexion becomes a separate corporate entity focused on M2M, becoming the first operator to develop and launch an industrial IoT platform.

2008

The Telenor Connexion solderable eSIM patent is approved.

2010

Our first North American hub is opened in The US and our first APAC hub is set up in Japan.

2011

Connectivity management platform divested to Ericsson.

2014

Managed IoT Cloud services launched.

2018

Ranked as a top 10 IoT operator globally managing more than 10 million connected things.

2018

Named Advanced Technology Partner in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network.

2019

Telenor Group recognised as a global leader in managed IoT connectivity services by Gartner.

2019

Telenor Connexion achieves ISO 27001 certification.

2020

Extension of global IoT subscription into restricted countries (eUICC).

2021

Telenor IoT is launched. Telenor unifies its IoT offering across the Nordics and internationally.

2021

Telenor surpasses managing 17 million connected things on a global scale.

2022

Telenor surpasses managing 20 million connected things on a global scale.
