IoT Think Tank is the yearly exclusive gathering for Telenor IoT customers and close contacts, aiming to create an inspiring meeting place for experts, leaders, academics and peers for networking and discussions on key topics around IoT. Previous sessions have featured representatives from companies like Google, Amazon, Volvo Cars, top universities and strategic consultancies – just to name a few – and we have received very positive feedback from participants.
The event will start with registration and lunch on Thursday at 12pm and will continue to lunch next day. The number of seats available is limited, so confirm your participation as soon as possible, but latest on April 8th.
John Wibrand is a forward-thinking leader in IoT, digitalization, and AI, with a particular focus on sustainable business models for real estate and PropTech. As the HVAC Digital Director at Swegon Group, John drives the development and operation of digital services for connected HVAC products. His mission is to ensure these systems are not only safe and user-friendly but also empower users to unlock the full potential of the data they generate.
With over five years at Swegon Group, John is a strong advocate for lean and agile principles, emphasizing the importance of the go-to Gemba approach—testing solutions in real-world environments as early as possible. He believes in putting real users at the center of the innovation process, allowing them to determine what works and what doesn’t, ensuring that solutions deliver genuine value.
John’s expertise lies in redefining value propositions as businesses transition from physical products to software solutions, helping organizations navigate this shift effectively while maintaining a focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. Based in Jönköping, Sweden, John combines technical expertise with a passion for driving meaningful change in the built environment.
As the Head of the EMEA Technical Sales Team, Firas leads the Pre-Sales/Sales Engineering team at Itron across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He drives innovative solutions and supports customers in their digital transformation journey.
With extensive experience in smart metering, communication infrastructure, software solutions, and smart city technologies, Firas bridges the gap between advanced technologies and real-world applications, helping utilities and cities optimize their energy and water management.
Firas holds a Ph.D. in Geomatics, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Wireless Sensor Networks, from Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO) and École Navale in France. He also holds a Master’s degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from Lebanon.
Ibraheem is a member of the Business Services research team in London, and leads the IoT Services and Private Networks research programmes. He has written on topics including IoT eSIMs and iSIMs, cellular drones and public-private hybrid networks, and has conducted research on IoT verticals such as automotive and smart metering. Ibraheem holds a BSc in economics from the University of Warwick and wrote his dissertation on the impact of technology on sleep.
