Telenor Connexion and I-ON Communications have partnered to offer new digital solutions, with a focus on the utilities and energy sector. This agreement marks not only the beginning of a collaboration between the two companies, but the opening of new opportunities for companies which deploy connected assets and products in Korea.

This agreement marks not only the beginning of a collaboration between the two companies, but the opening of new opportunities for companies which deploy connected assets and products in Korea.
All types of businesses are looking for digital solutions to streamline and strengthen both their operational processes and their consumer offerings. In the utilities and energy industry, connected solutions for smart grids, consumer utility meters and smart buildings offer both manufacturers and utility operators new ways of doing business and interacting with customers.
I-ON Communications, headquartered in Seoul, Korea, specialise in the development of solutions for the energy sector. The company offers Demand Response Management System, as well as Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Energy Trading System (ETS) and Micro-Grid (MG) solutions. Furthermore, I-ON is demonstrating and developing a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) solution-related business model with Malaysia utility.
Telenor Connexion, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is the dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) company within Telenor Group, one of the world’s largest mobile network operators. With mobile connectivity solutions and services as well as cloud-based data management services, Telenor Connexion helps customers around the world design, deploy and manage connected vehicles, devices and equipment.
As announced on the 21st of November, representatives from I-ON Communications signed a letter of intent with Telenor Connexion. At the agreement ceremony, each party introduced their core business area, explored the future of their target markets and discussed possible ways to collaborate.
“With this agreement, we expect to speed up the development of new business in Korea,” says Byron Yu, Director of International Business Development at I-ON Communications. “Telenor Connexion offers both customised and off-the-shelf IoT solutions, which means we will be able to rapidly commercialise various models for the energy sector and other industries.”
