The world leading Internet of Things (IoT) provider Telenor Connexion today announces its further extension of global coverage for mobile IoT with new nationwide LTE-M specific roaming agreements in USA, the Netherlands and the Telenor networks in the Nordic countries; Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

While Telenor Connexion customers already have access to global LTE-M connectivity via 4G (LTE) networks around the world, the new LTE-M roaming agreements are taking this one step further by guaranteeing IoT specific LTE-M functionality and full 24/7 365 IoT support.

LTE-M and NB-IoT, also referred to as mobile IoT are LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Networks) technologies, standardized and built on the 4G network and forward compatible with 5G which means they are future proof, have global network coverage and are backed up by GSMA and telecom standards.

Telenor Connexion sees the LTE-M technology as the preferred choice for most of the international enterprises needing a single point of contact for global connectivity for fleets of devices.

With Telenor Connexion’s global managed connectivity service, enterprises get access to more than 500 networks in 200+ countries with one point of contact.

In addition, Telenor Connexion expands its global reach in terms of the total number of global networks which allows Telenor Connexion’s customers a seamless and secure access to 500+ global networks.

Martin Whitlock, CTO, Telenor Connexion, says “These are important steps in our strategy to expand and enhance our managed connectivity offering to global customers. With LTE-M customers can connect their IoT solutions worldwide throughout the 5G era. The technology is especially relevant as a future proof IoT connectivity replacement for countries where 2G technology is being sunset and is less available, such as North America.”

With further agreements under discussion, Telenor Connexion continues to actively work together with their roaming partners to provide the best global coverage for their customers. Additional agreements are expected to follow.
